Have SQL 2000 backend...
We just moved from Windows 2000 to Windows 2003, used import data routine in SQL to move data.
Logged into admin area. When adding new user, no record is created. However, editing record works just fine.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
, IT worked just as cwilliams said. I did see the IP address being stored in the table but it didn't dawn on me that it was tied in to the view count, I tried it from a different IP address and it worked great .

We actually do not tell you to put nothing in the PayPal system for the IPN URL. Something has to be there or PayPal will not let you enable IPN. We actually tell you in you PayPal settings to turn on IPN and make up an IPN url because something has to go there. (I think we suggested making a blank asp page on you're site to send it to) It really doesn't matter where you send that but it might as well be a valid page on your site to avoid any 404 errors in your logs when a non ASPProtect payment comes in.
You see, we dont set that IPN url set in the PayPal system because each ASPProtect signup script directory (single payment and subcription) uses it own IPN url and that all gets set on the fly by the aspprotect system. There is a way to overide the defaul IPN url is what I am saying.
Also:
A lot of people already have something there and we didn't want the ASPProtect system to interfere with things they already had going on.

, i will probably end up doing this myself, but dropping all the log data in a sql table would be nice as it offers much more flexibility on how an admin can keep track and use the data. Browsing through each log file is very inconvenient. I can search for text in the files (server-side, others with a shared server would probably have to separately download all log files first), but with the current method I don't have the following important options:
- cannot sort by any criteria
- quickly see a list of all login attempts by a specific user (i need to search each log file individually for this info)
if you had an option during setup perhaps (or elsewhere) in a future version that allowed an admin to specify the preferred logging method (separate files or a table in sql) i'm sure many admins would find it very useful to have a database alternative of keeping track of users becuase it would offer the two benefits listed above, plus more.

I'd like to set up the system to redirect to a landing page (say home1) after the user logs in.
I have looked at all the documentation and can't find something that explains how to do this. I am thinking that I can set up a log in as the default in my root directory that will have a form with an action=check_user_inc.asp. I have looked at the code there but cannot find a place where I would place a redirect to home1.

, the menu file.. "menu.asp" or something... just follow the logic of the code to find things like that. Look for server side include files and what not in the source code.

I logged in and tried to change it back to default but it won't. I'm going to try making this folder a Frontpage subweb to see if that makes a difference.

As I have my site hosted by a web hosting company (1and1.com), I want to make sure the ASP Photo Gallery software runs correctly before I buy. I am not sure about whether or not they support parent paths because I can find nothing in the online faqs. But, I have two other ASP apps (Forum and News from Web Wiz) running on the site, both connecting to Access databases. I remember having problems initially setting these up because I kept trying to use paths like ../db/wwforum.mdb like I would normally do when referencing images or pages in other folders.
Anyway, here are the database connection strings for the two apps. The first is for the Forum, which is at /forum/common.asp connecting to a database in /db/wwForum.mdb. The second is for the News, at /news/common.asp accessing /db/news.mdb.

, If you have messed up the admin account or forgotten the admin password you generally should open up the database manually and add a new account or see what the old account is.
In version 7 however you have another option. Go through the installation instructions again. Specifically the part where you use the "get_me_in.asp" page to get back into the admin area by pasting in the password encrpytion keye you are using from your config file. , If you have an album with more than 96 pictures, the spacing in the tables can become incorrect, with pictures touching each other. (This program is not designed to handle more than 96 pictures due to server speed, but it can handle more than 96 with minor changes to the code.) Also, after 96 pictures, the pictures will not have 6 on a line, but rather 6 on a line up to 96 pictures and then the rest of the pictures on one line next to each other extending to the right of the screen endlessly. To fix this, I simply edited the ASP code using the following loop. It can be a perminent fix, because I used the maxpicsperalbum variable to define the spacing.

By default all of the Access Databases we give out have a default password of "temp"
The Default username that and Access database uses is "Admin" but you should not be concerned with that except in your connection strings.
The default password for the Access Database can only be changed using Microsoft Access to do so. If you have security concerns it would make sense to change the password. The help system built into Microsoft Access best explains how to do that.
cwilliams38403.6820833333, I dont know about the unspecified errors. I really need more detailed information. (Since it has been working fine for quite a long time you might want to consider installaing the application from scracth again and see if you still get errors)
As for the log in not persiting. Did you by chance turn off cookies in your browser ? They are required for forms based authentication to function. Otherwise, yes you would need to log in to each and every page as you moved around.

I'm not sure if it's a permission thing or not. ASPNET and IUSR both have modify access to the _database folder and childs, yet I'm still getting the error:

Either server side or right in the form via client side javascript.
I dont have any experience with validating zip codes here much less UK.
Google it would be my best advice.. or maybe find some free app written in UK format and see how they did it.

, One problem that is appearing is that in the admin section, in the users.aspx page, only one user is showing up when there are in fact 9 users. Also, when I click the edit user or email icon, the page does not go to the edit screen, it remains on the same page.
Also, I’ve been trying to modify the code to adapt it for our application -- by removing fields that we do not need such as address, city, state, phone, but I am having trouble getting visual studio to compile. It could be due to the fact that the rest of the project is in C#. Or it could be due to some other factor in ASP Protect.
