I am using v7 with other software written in ASP.NET. When I include the the "checkfor" and include file, I'm receiving a compliation error.
Here is the include I have on the .aspx file:

, Banners no longer show up on my site ?
If banners were working fine and now they are just not showing up.
1st check to see that you are calling a valid zone with live banners in it.
If you are then most likely this it what hapened.
The web server must have crashed or lost power and now the application variables are in limbo/not working.
I have seen this happen a few times.
Basically the application variable system gets messed up because it was not shut down properlly.
The way to cure it are as follows.
Edit and save a banner in the system. Hopefully that gets things going again.

I just made a new admin account and I still can not log in using it ?
Did you by chance edit the code by adding LCID info or something like that ? Something is just very wrong.
The simple example protected pages can not even be logged into ?

If these people are employees and sales reps why are are you using expiration dates at all ? and why the renewing issues... etc etc

it might help me to better understand and possibly think about new features for new versions in the future., We are using this photo gallery to manage galeries of all the prodcut
lines we carry, we have no use for users to be able to sign up so i hid
that part of the pages, what i am wondering is how can i hide the rest
of the navigational links and still be able to get logged in to

I entered a password that was supposed to be all caps with only first letter caps.
it is odd, if I go to other user and enter wrong password that does not come up. it apprpriately goes to a screen that says Access Denied.

to a protected ".asp" page use code like this.
Change the action of the form to the page you want them to log into.
Make sure the page you send them to is protected by the "check_user_inc.asp" file.

cwilliams38411.453912037, If the physical path isnt right and the permissions are not right it just plain will not work. You will not get an error.
If the filesystem object is disabled on the webserver it will not work either.
Something has to be wrong.

An Admins can however ftp a bunch of pics to the import folder and import them into any album all at once pretty easily
, sounds like the data/export folde does not have permissions, When I enter www.vickerylightning.com/aspgallery/dataconn_inc.asp on the screen it says "Not a valid bookmark"
as far as that goes I have no idea.. I have never seen that message before but you are not suppose to run that page by itself regardless.. it is an include file not meant to run on its own , I checked the SQL table and had 1 banner with no zone ID. I added it in
directly through the SQL interface and now it seems to be ok., Well you can put a link on all your pages that links to the login page?
modify the code in the login page so the return page is members.aspx or
whatever you need and thats it?

I am having a hard time getting my hosting company to modify the rights on the data folder. They state they support ASP and access databases however this is the response I got when I requested the modify permissions set for the internet guest account:
Were the rights changed on the data folder? No, we do not manage rights to folders.
My question to you is: Doesn't supporting asp require those permissions be set on the database folder or can asp (not just aspprotect) work without those rights modified?

I think this has something to do with your original experience when things would work and then not work.

, I encountered the same problem and eventually found out that my Norton protection was not allowing scripts to work so I had to uncheck the setting before the banners reappeared., I would like to create a login form on the home page which will not be password protected to the site for members so that they can login right from the home page and not a password protected page like many sites have. And every portal I have seen.
Plus the login form looks really pretty and proffesional on the home page  ...
I can't find anything in the documentation that says how to do this or if it's even possible. Everything I have found says to password protect a page and then direct them there which isn't what I would like to do.

ok, I am a bit confused... you make it sound like as if you are running a different version than you were when you ordered this a couple/few weeks back... that confuses me because you were able to log in to the admin area of aspprotect.net before? weren't you ?
there have been no changes to the download or the version in quite some time ?

for an admin..
you view albums for a user.. make a new album... then click manage pictures
for a regular user you log in.. go to user user area.. create an album..then click on manage your albums , Because employees and sales reps might leave or go to work at competitors without our knowledge and we can't have them get an perm account so we need to implement some sort of expiry and then review their account with them., ok , I am in process of upgrading from v6 to v7. I have made database changes, can connect to database and get in to Administration area just fine. However when I go to create a new user I get the following error

Thanks , I purchased and installed the full version ASPProtect 6.0 in Feb 05 (must have been just before 7.0 came out) and have been using CDONTS for email authorization during the registration process.
It was working fine for about three months. Now, after registering, the email authorization is NOT delivered to the new registrant. There are no error messages.It just doesn't arrive.
Any thoughts on the subject would be appreciated.

If you are getting errors with your ASP application go to Internet Explorer and make sure this setting is unchecked. Having this checked can cause a generic error to be displayed in you web browser when ASP code encounters an error. This generic error message doesn't really help you fix the problem. Having this setting unchecked will usually result in a more detailed error message and the line number the error is occurring at, thus giving you a good clue as to where the problem is within the ASP code. Your not talking about adding a new user from the admin area ?
Either way under no circumstances do I see anything like you are saying happening nor has any other ASPProtect user ever mentioned this probem.
I am going to need to see your site and see this happening. It just makes no sense the way you are describing it.
Also. did you edit the registration page code in any way. If so please revert back to an original copy to ensure this is not some sort of problem introduced by editing the code. cwilliams38164.8115046296, Well, you cant have a login box on the home page when using ASPProtect.NET.. there is no way to make that work. I tried all day to come up with something and it is not going to happen. I suggest you make a login button and link it directly to the protected page you want them to start on. The redirect or link them whereever from there. Either that or write your own forms based authentication solution that works exactly the way you want it to or edit the code accordingly since you have the source. It is not a feature we advertise for the product regardless. It works the way it works. , Christopher
