Don't want to install the application ? Having trouble doing it ? Don't think you can ? |
No problem, have us install it for you.
PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS
Installation service is generally available Mon - Fri during the hours of 10 am - 7 pm EST. We may very well be around to do installs at other times but we do not guarantee that.
To do an install we generally need FrontPage Explorer or FTP access to your site. We also need a way to set permissions on any necessary directories, etc etc.
To do a SQL Server install we need to access your SQL server via Enterprise Manager.
Some installs may require access to other things not mentioned.
The server must be a properly set up NT/2000/2003 server running IIS 4-6 for ASP 3.0 applications. (with support for ASP scripts and database connectivity.) Parent Paths must be enabled on the server.
Please Note: These ASP scripts do not run under Chillisoft ASP. That means they do not run under Unix, Linux, Apache, etc etc. We do not install our applications on free ASP Hosting solutions. Why, because they are more trouble than they are worth. Free hosts like that are usually zero help if we need something changed. There is a reason they are free.
We install the software in it's base configuration. We make sure it is running correctly. If you break the installation you will have to pay to have it fixed. We do not integrate it with your existing site or edit any of your existing web content. That is up to you. Installation fees are non refundable as is the digital source code we sell. When you purchase anything from us you agree to this.
We do not do installs for IPNFulfill and Color Sequence Protection as they are simple scripts and do not even use a database.. We also do not install the IPN Support Pack as it is just a folder you copy into your web and some configuration files that you must decide how to configure based on your needs and your PayPal account info.

Hi,
I basically explained how I thought that might work here where I went over everything I could think of and suggested you download the free version and see if you could get it working http://support.cjwsoft.com/code/moreinfo488-1.htm
The part about using the alternate scenario involving querystring info from a url.
I have never done anything like that and that is why I told you what I knew and suggested you try it with the free version... , you have to do it like I show above... your not specifying the field name to be searched in the instr function so what you just showed me will not do anything
You also should not have the > 0 stuff in the function because it is testing the result of the function.
You have to do it just like I showed , Tony,
ASPBanner.NET was discontinued about 14 months ago. It is no longer supported in any way because quite frankly the classic ASP version is faster, more stable, has more features, and is a lot easier to install and get running.
If you PM me via the forum you are welcome to a copy of the current ASP Unlimited Version. It can serve banners to any type of page extension. All you have to do is ask for a copy.
Whether or not your existing ASPBanner.NET database is exactly the same structure I do not know, but I believe it is. You should compare the two if you plan to keep using the old database and make any neccessary changes so the old database has the exact same structure as the new version. If there are any differences they are very few. , sure (XP PRO), see my article on that
http://www.powerasp.com/content/new/windows_xp_pro_and_permi ssions.asp
, all that docmunetation is online as well right here so you dont really need the chm file http://support.cjwsoft.com/code/info24.htm
the chm format is a windows format that can only be viewed on windows pcs. I do not know why you can not see it. I would do reseach on viewing CHM files on whatever operating system and version you are running because perhaps you are using a mac or linux operating system which can not natively view chm files ?
, I downloaded the skins, ftp'd them to the skins folder and can see them in the list of available skins. No matter which one I try to apply it keeps solid_color_black.
Al , O.K. , I register myself as a user. No problem, Iget an e-mail saying account active. No problem. I click the link in the e-mail. No problem. I click sign in and get this message. Big problem!!
Microsoft VBScript compilation error '800a0411'

Basically they seem to have an odd version of it installed and I had to tweak the code a little. I also uploaded the server info page in the admin area to test for it.
Just back up the gallery folder so you have a backup copy of the modified code.
CJW , My client has a list of 13,000 members that
have already been assigned ID's and passwords with a
homegrown system.
When doing a bulk import, will we be able to retain the userid and password or will a new id be assigned during the bulk load?
Thanks in advance for your help.
, Parent Paths ?
http://support.cjwsoft.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=5&P N=1
, Say, I just thought of one last thing.
Your not by any chance running something like norton antivirus with norton script blocker on that server are you ?
It can cause issues when ASP uses the filesystem object and cause never ending page hangs like you are having.
There are other apps as well that can cause it to hang.
http://www.aspfaq.com/show.asp?id=2180
And ASPProtect does use the filesystem object., If I would like a link on my web page that will take someone to the login page (I would also like this page to contain forgot passord? and register) I am not entirely clear what file to link to to do this. Would it be check_user_inc.asp?
Thanks in advance?
cwilliams38456.0972106481, No can do. In both cases there is an icon that says "Not uploaded". I click in it and nothing happens. There is no link to upload. Am I missing something?
By the way, I appreciate and am impressed with your rapid response. Thanks.
, perhaps the filesystem object is disabled on the server ? or some sort of script blocking is running and causing a problem ?
other than that I can take a look if you put it up on a live server.
, The parent paths things really should not be an issue.
This is an article from the troubleshooting section of the documentation that takes care of it all very easily.
http://support.cjwsoft.com/code/moreinfo162-1.htm
As for a good host that knows ASP and does not mess around when you ask for something. I always recommened www.alentus.com
, I purchased the ASPGallery Pro last week and still cannot get it running. When I enter www.vickerylightning.com/aspgallery/dataconn_inc.asp on the screen it says "Not a valid bookmark"
Below is the connection string. My hosting company uses server map paths:
'Create database connection
'Create a connection odject Set adoCon = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")
'Database connection info and driver 'strCon = "DRIVER={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)}; DBQ=" & Server.MapPath("aspgallery_access2002.mdb")
'Alternative drivers faster than the generic access one above 'strCon = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.3.51; Data Source=" & Server.MapPath("aspgallery_access97.mdb") 'This one is if you use Access 97 'strCon = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0; Data Source=" & Server.MapPath("aspgallery_access2000.mdb") 'This one is for Access 2000/2002 GalleryConnectionString = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0; Jet OLEDB:Database Password=temp; Data Source=\\NAWINFS04\home\users\web\b2623\rh.vickery2004\aspga llery\aspgallery_access2002.mdb; " GalleryDatabaseType = "MSACCESS"
adoCon.ConnectionString = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source="&Server.MapPath ("\aspgallery\aspgallery_access2002.mdb") & ";"
Definitely need some assistance!
Rhona (rookie asp) -
,
I encountered a problem that I haven't been able to solve.
I'm trying to get .pdf files to byte serve (page-by-page load in the browser)
but unable to do so. I've narrowed it down to stream download file where it
creates the header object. I haven't made any success with the changes I've
tried. Any help would be very nice.
This maybe useful:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/e n-us/act/htm/actml_ref_href.asp
, It is common when testing a site that this happens because of the nature of session variables.
Admins have access to EVERYTHING so it is very important when testing different user accounts that you specifically log out... and then close every single browser window before logging in as a different user. This is to ensure session info from the previous user does not overlap in any areas. (The session variable for admin access being the main one)
Under normal circumstances a user would not log in with many different accounts on the same computer this this would only be a problem for a developer who is testing.
So make sure you go to the to log-off page and log off.. then close all browser windows.. then test another user.
If all this is not the case then something else is going on and I will need more information. I pretty much know the level checking code for ASPProtect Version 6 is correct as there has been no reason to change any of it in over a year. I would have heard reports of problems with it. , Just checked XML Parsing with your file. Got a clean bill of health on that: It's working.
Got the right code for the location of the ipn.asp in my paypal1.asp, from http:// all the way to .asp.
I think since everything is set up properly from the looks of things,
I'll wait and see. If I get another one who flubs things, then I'll
start the testing of the account. But if it goes through just fine,
then maybe the Internet just hiccoughed on the first guy... thanks
again!
, Your suggestion worked - thanks - , ok , if you use our existing User_ID they are going to get new ID's. There is nothing you can do about that.
You could very easily though stick your exisisting User_ID's in one of the custum fields so you dont lose that info for each member., Your SQL statement to the database is the key.
You want to change the sortby hyperlink on that page so that it will in turn change the dynamic sql statement to sort the way you want
Find
?SORTBY=Date_Created
change it to
?SORTBY=Date_Created+ASC
or maybe
?SORTBY=Date_Created+DESC
One of them is the default anyway, but I cant remember which is which off hand so just try them both till you get the desired result
near the top you can also change the default sortby when thet page is loaded
SORTBY = Request("SORTBY") If SORTBY = "" Then SORTBY = "Name" End If
there you would use a space though.. not a "+" sign when adding the ASC or DESC
The + sign is only used in the hyperlinks because it means a space for browsers that can't deal with spaces in links cwilliams38406.6011458333, Upgrade from V6 to v7.x with an MSSQL SERVER DATABASE
1st of all, backup your existing ASPProtect files and database before performing this upgrade. Please be really careful while performing this upgrade. Version 7.x is a highly advanced application compared to any previous versions. CJWSoft under no circumstances is responsible if you lose information or have website downtime.
BOTTOM LINE: (PERFORM THIS UPGRADE AT YOUR OWN RISK)
To do this upgrade you're going to need to have SQL Enterprise Manager and SQL Query Analyzer
That being said, on with the upgrade..
Open your SQL database in SQL Enterprise Manager
Regarding the following Tables
Rename "Users" to "ASPP_Users" Rename "Groups" to "ASPP_Groups"
If you do not have a "Groups" table do not worry about it right now.
Now right click and DELETE the Config Table. Yes, delete it..
Now, go into Design View for the "ASPP_Users" Table.
Rename the "Password" field to "Old_Password" Be sure to spell it perfectly using the Underscore
If you have a "Groups" Field... leave it alone If you do not have a "Groups" Field add one and make it a "nvarchar" field with a lengh of 255.
Now, we are going to add a few more new fields.
Add a field called "Redirection_URL" make it a "nvarchar" field with a lengh of 150. Add a field called "PayPal_Subscriber_ID" make it a "nvarchar" field with a lengh of 100. Add a field called "Newsletter" and make it a "bit" field Add a field called "Password" and make it a "nvarchar" field with a lengh of 100.
Now close that window and save the changes..
Download these scripts. 2005-02-23_171110_aspprotect_v7_sql_upgrade_scripts.zip
Now open up SQL Query Analyzer Connect to your SQL server.
Then load the script "aspprotect_v7_config_table.sql" into the Query Analyzer. Click the green play button at the top. If everything goes well the response should read something like this.
****************************************************** (1 row(s) affected) ******************************************************
Now, if you had a Groups Table your done with the database changes.
If you didnt have a groups table.
Then load the script "aspprotect_v7_groups_table.sql" into the Query Analyzer. Click the green play button at the top.
Now, go back to your database in Enterprise Manager and make sure all 3 tables are there and look ok. You might need to do a refresh or two to see them.
Now make sure an existing or new SQL user has (public / datareader / datawriter) permissions for all three tables. You reference this user in the asp code connection string so this user must be set up correctly. You may need your SQL server admins or hosting company to help you on this step as you may not have access to do this. You may not need to create a user and set permissions as the sql user you were logged in as to use query analyzer may by default get the correct permissions on anything you create.
Regardless, as you can see from this screenshot I have a SQL user called "aspprotectuser" and proceeded to set the permissions for that user. Under database access giving him (public, datareader, and datewriter permissions).

Now, you are done upgrading your SQL Server Database.
The existing passwords still have to be encrytped and moved from the "Old_Password" to the "Password" field
To that we have a special page we run in the application that will take care of that.
So, for now... go install the application, but using the database we just created. Follow these instructions for the most part... http://support.cjwsoft.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=181& ; ;PN=1
When you get to the part where you finally get into the admin area and need to make an admin account you will notice that your existing user database is there but none of the users have passwords if you look at them in the edit screen.
That is normal. Simply do what the instructions say and create and admin account using a username that does not exist..
Then log off... then back in as that new admin account. If that works you are ready to convert the passwords.
This part is very easy.
You want to run a special page via the browser.
http://www.mysite.com/password_admin/convert_to_encrypted.asp
Replacing the part in blue with your website info.
Once you get the page running you will see a login prompt and one form field just like before with the "get_me_in.asp" page
You will need to paste the "PasswordEncryptionKey" value that you used in the "config_inc.asp" file in the form field and hit enter.
If all goes well you will see a page telling you to click here to encrypt the passwords and copy them over.
So do what it says... dont click more than once and wait.
Eventually it should say it is finished. So go log in to the admin area of the system using the new admin account.
Now edit some users but dont save... you want to see if the passwords are showing up. If they are the conversion worked. If you see nothing or a garbled mess it did not work and you made a mistake during this whole process.
If things went well backup and delete the conversion file below.
http://www.mysite.com/password_admin/convert_to_encrypted.asp
You do not need it anymore.
Once you are positive every thing is running smoothly and everyone's passwords are ok you can go in and delete the "Old_Password" field as well.
If things didnt go well.. try again from scratch and go slowly. If they still dont go well get ahold of us for help.
We are here to help, but if you really want us to we can be hired to do the conversion. , I have found the alternate databases and they do not work either. I then went back and changed the database path in the asptest page to connect to the 2000 and 2002 test databases and it connected successfully to both of those databases, just as it had successfully connected to the asptest.mdb., Or at least I think so. I have been trying to get this software to work so I can see if it meets our needs for an upgrade purchare. Here is my error.
Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80040e10'
No value given for one or more required parameters.
/aspprotect/scripts/populate_config_variables_inc.asp, line 15
My provider says that the problem is NOT on there end, that it is a problem with the code. I think that it is a database connection problem. Can you please help. Below is my connection string based on what the setup page directed me to do:
ConnectionString = "data source=\\NAWINFS03\home\users\web\b1347\rh.957theride\asppro tect\data\database\ASPProtect_access2002.mdb; Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Jet OLEDB:Database Password=temp"
When I first set up the program I got this error:
Provider error '8000ffff' Catastrophic failure /aspprotect/scripts/populate_config_variables_inc.asp, line 11
Once again, the looked into it and said the permissions were fine and that the code was most likely bad. But then the errror changed to the one that I first listed. Which is the one I am currently getting.
BTW here is the page address
http://www.957theride.com/aspprotect/password_admin/get_me_i n.asp
Thank you! , It's MS Access, Version 7 (the Full one).
Anyway, I had inadvertently changed the user_id field type to "number". When I changed it back to "autonumber", everything went back to normal.
Thanks you very much for your quick reply and sorry to have bothered you. , The webpage header for CJWSoft states "Web Development for Win NT/2000 servers" - a little dated cause it works just fine on 2003 too, right? :), It almost seems like allow images is denied. When I look at the ad it doesn't even show a place where the thumbnail or image would go:
Columns now are Ad Name/ Price / Expires / Hits
There used to be one before Ad Name.
Even unchecked (saved) and checked
Use_Picture_Upload |
< = value=True name=Use_Picture_Upload> Check this if you will be using the picture uploading feature. |
, so, on control_pics.asp where you see
<% =TempDesc %>
you could try doing this instead
<% =Replace(TempDesc," ","") %>
, check the connection string in the dataconn_inc.asp file. If using MSAccess it will show the location. If using SQL Server it will show the SQL Server details in which case there is no physical database file., aspprotect does not use a global.asa file
I would start by looking there and seeing what is going on ... with line 33
I dont see how it could be related to aspprotect in any way
Global.asa files fire on their own and what they do depends on what code is put in them,
actually, passwords can be up to 75 characters long in ASPProtect. the only requirement when entered from a non admin user is that they are at least 4 characters long.
what does MSAccess have to do with this ? Are you trying to convert and old system or something? I noticed you created and "old password" field in there ? Is there something I do not know about as far as what you are trying to do?
Passwords in version 7 are encrypted so I hope you understand all of that and realize you can not enter or change passwords right from SQL server. Also if you import info you must handle that accordingly and convert the passwords to encrypted format.
First off, I haven't imported anything from MS Access.. The only reason I mentioned it is cuz I thought initially it worked with Access and not SQL server.
I am not converting nor entering any data manually into the db, nor have I changed anything in the way the registration is made (don't know where the "Old password" has come from? thought it was a function you made?) , After you click the link in the confirmation e-mail you are directed to
the Thank you page. Right above is a sign in link. When I
click this I get that funky error message.
I am trying to integrate the scripts with the look of my
site, if that is what you mean by changing things around too
much. But, I don't think I have done anything out of the ordinary.
Cheers,
Roy
, I disagree...
It would be 20 hours + of conversion and testing. Maybe more.
Like I said, I converted a version fo ASPBanner once to work with MYSQL. It took forever to change all the code (2 weeks of messing around) and get it working. There were also a lot of issues with null values in the database, ado update code that had to be rewritten, cursor type issues, recordcounts not working, etc etc that had to be sorted out. There was a ton of situations where things seemed to be working but later on I noticed there were minor bugs to deal with. It was a lot of work.
ASP Photo Gallery has a ton of asp pages. It is a much larger app then ASPBanner. If you convert it to work with mysql I highly doubt you could have it running well with less than 20+ hours of work. I wrote the app and it would at least take me that long and there would still be bugs at that point.
If you think you could your not used to my style of coding and don't realize exactly how much stuff needs to be rewritten.
Granted, you could get some of the basics running off mysql in a few hours or less but there is just so much little stuff that would give you trouble. cwilliams38243.9065277778, I am getting the same error looking at the previous post, I looked in settings and my Registration-URL is pointing at the correct location.
Is there any other thoughts on this issue
Thank you!
Matt2112 , Can ASPClassifieds display the ads by city?
I have a web directory that lists websites and companies by city. Is it possible to have specific ads shown to the user depending on what city they click on? For example, only ads in New York would be shown to users that have already clicked on that city in my directory.
thanks, , Hello,
What is the difference between the paypal_sub_signup and the paypal_signup directories? Also, I know it depends, but what directories and files can I delete from my web server if I am not using them? I copied the entire set of files that came with the program over to the webserver and I am concerned that there is too much out there.
