I am just implementing the product, and I deleted the included zones instead of renaming them. That is why it is up to 6. I am migrating banners from my current system before I implement the code onto my pages.
If I may, I'd like to ask another question. I use rotation on all pages of my site except for the home page, where the banners are all smaller and static - an advertiser can expect their banner to always be in the same spot on the page.
I am currently hard coding this via html, but then I do not have the ability to collect stats on home page banner clicks, so I want to use ASPBanner. My question is, can I do this without creating a seperate zone for each banner? In other words, is there a way to modify the html code (that works just fine) so that in addition to indicating the zone, it can indicate the specific banner I want to appear? I would then paste the code in each cell of the table, and alter the banner #. If I do this with just the zone, I expect that the page will randomize the position of each banner across the page. You would have to carefully edit the asp code in the "add_new_account.asp" file. It you look that file over with a text editor it is pretty easy to see where the text to edit is. Just make sure you edit it in the section for the email component you are using. Back the file up before you make any changes to it so you can revert back if you mess anything up., Makes sense to me. I used the ASPProtect_access2002.mdb supplied.
(I am using 2003). Only added more names and other personal info
to it for test. Uploaded the amended db with FTP. This did not
restrict someone not listed in db from logging in.
Would each individuals' information need to be added to the code in
order to have it check the database first to find out if the person is
authorized to view?
Part of the problem is I dont know which ASP page or script links the
db to the rest of the web, or how one page relates or links to the
other.
Sometimes I wonder if problems I encounter originate with the server.

, Now that I really think about it.. instead of logging that info to a text file and worrying about folder permissions you could probably just save the post info into an application variable during the paypal ipn.asp post like so

Yes i never actually considered that they should log in twice.
The site uses two main url and the cookie was being stored for only one
of them. I have fixed the double login issue by making changes to
menu to ensure that they are always logging only via the url stored in
the cookie.

Michelle , The problem was in config_inc.asp. we had renamed the field in the DB but didn't change it in this file.
But we changed it, it is back to normal.
Thanks , I recently upgraded my ASPclassifieds from MS Access to SQL. The application launches, I can browse existing catagories, etc. but when I try clicking on the login, guestbook, register or accessing the classifieds_admin, I get the HTTP 500 - Internal server error. Guessing this must be a folder or file permission issue? Have tried changing IUSR permissions but nothing helps.
Please advise.

There is also an option in asp photo gallery pro to store the images original filename in the description field which is pretty cool.
Ibulc client bulk upload support currently only works with the pure vbscript upload or the safileup component. (I may support the other two components asp photo gallery can use but it really depends on time) The pure vbscript upload code I am using for this is much better than the code I was using before so that method should be offer decent performance for anyone though using a component is always better.
I still have to add the ibulc feature to the users side. It currently all only works for an admin user.
The whole process is very cool. You install the ibulc client on you computer. It's tiny, and free for uploading up to 10 (100kb) pictures at once. You have to by a domain license from them to do more than 10. Anyway.. it lets you select multiple pictures off your hard drive and it then uploads them all at once with individual progress info for each picture. Its really cool and since it really treats each picture as an individual upload it doesn't hammer the server with one big upload at once.
I also made it so you can start the picture uploads at any picture number.
So if you already have pictures in an album you can add more without losing what is already there.
This was one of the main features of the new version and now that it is working hopefully I can tie up any loose ends and get the new version out soon. cwilliams38327.5488541667, Parent paths being enabled on the server is a requirement of the application. That error means just what it says.
you can change all the server side includes to virtual includes that will work or you can ask you host to enable parent paths.. those are the options

and like in the "example" protected pages we provide
or they will not be protected and nothing will happen as far as ASPProtect goes

I was told by my ISP to use localhost and it should work and it does not. It does not require authentication to send e-mails.

1033 which is English - United States
mm/dd/yyyy date format
or
2057 which is English - United Kingdom

Many servers are set to run the default LCID which is 2048 so the banner system will not show the date pickers.
This setting can however be easily overwritten when using the ASPBanner system.
Edit the "config_inc.asp" file with a text editor.
Add this code between the <% and %> tags.
Near the top is good
Session.LCID = 1033
or
Session.LCID = 2057
depending on what date format you are looking to use

Best setup I recomend is just setting up a rig and making a workgroup.
No real reason for a production machine to have any access to internal
security when you think about it.
classic asp should be pretty easy to move, just set up new webs and
dump the scripts in there. If you have 2 machines its always easier to
look at the one while your building the other. Basically copy the setup
and tada... the only thing you might need to remeber is components (if
your using any) and thats usually not a very big deal either.
Point sort of being at some point your going to have to change that
thing around and while its no fun you have to imagine now is a better
time to bite the bullet and get it set up the right way. Your
alternative is to mess around for hours and hours praying that you
change domain wide security to the point that running NET
apps on that domain controller works. Personally I wouldnt sleep well
knowing I had just messed around so bad with the OS that I had no clue
what bugs and security holes I might have accidently opened in the
process. I wont even get into the possible things that might stop
working on the rest of the domain if you fiddle with accounts like
"Network Service"
Oh and if thats not enough reason to make you think about it, consider
how hard it will be to try and rember what you did at 2AM 6 months from
now if that machine takes a dive or some critical update undoes what
you changed.
I feel for you though, trust me we have all been down that road once or
twice. Get some sleep and in the AM the task at hand wont seem nearly
as bad. You live and you learn, and you will definatly be WAY better
off making things right sooner than later
, Actually this was rather easy to fix. Once you restrict the permissions on the folder, open up IIS admin. Goto the selected folder, and right click/properties. I went to your site to look around and "try it" like you mentioned but I can not really try anything as the admin username/password seems to be something other than the default , check the connection string in the dataconn_inc.asp file. If using MSAccess it will show the location. If using SQL Server it will show the SQL Server details in which case there is no physical database file., Sorry Chris,
It didn't fix it. Looks like I had the current code. I bought the system in mid-April. The version says 3-10-2005.
I do know that in the database, the password shows as " éG" but in the error code, it shows as " éG". The square character is missing.

Edit: well heck. It skips the square box here too. The password in the database puts a square box in front of the éG , Whein I went by the numbers off of your directions, which work well up to that point, the import would time out.
At that point I tried to import directly into access...and then it hung trying to login.
okay so I've put in a clean database and created a new record for me as admin. , That's because when the page rebuilds, it uses the default number of
users per page setting. You'd have to modify that default setting to
have it do things differently. I used to have mine set to 500
users, until I got past 300... then it wasn't fun to show all users on
the page anymore. I now like 10 per page and searching for
specific users as needed.
But that's me. If you hack a COPY of your default.asp file (with the
original backed up as above), you can get the value set to one you
prefer.
If you want me to find the value, post and I'll look for it later on.
If you want to find it yourself, happy hunting! Just be sure to have a
backup in case you do the wrongest thing possible in your haxxoring.
, I'm in the process of incorporating the ASP Gallery functionality within my current site design.
To begin this process I'm taking each page and I'm wrapping the ASP
Gallery code with my site design [essentially I'm allocating this
application the center of the page]. When I pull in the
default.asp into the site the contents of this page make the entire
page too wide. I can't see where ASP Gallery assigns itself a
width.
I'm working on this as a side project so I'm not terribly far along
since I need to change all of the font assignments within the system to
style assignments and it's a slow go.
Any insight would be a great help, there's a lot of re-write in what I'm doing and i don't want to affect functionality.

Any connection strings that come in the datacon_inc.asp file the way it ships are examples. We fully expect people to edit them.
Also.. the SQL scripts primarly goal is give you a properly set up database with correct files and table settings. Users and permissions often need a little extra attention from the installer as that part doesn't always get set right by the scripts It really all depends on what sql user you are when you execute the scripts. Many times the user someone logs in with doesn't have permission to make users and set permissions.

There really is no default width in general.
The thing to remember is that the default.asp page includes a lot of different pages.. and some of those pages also include pages.
Now all of this gets wrapped by the header and footer include files so in a sense what you do there can effect everything inside to a certain degree.
Now there are some widths set here and there for different tables and what not on certain pages, but its really the kind of situation where you just have to dig around in the code and experiment until you eventualy find what you are looking for and get the desired result.
I'd love to tell you there is easy way to just set a width, but it is not that simple.
Maybe someday it will be. Just not in the current version.

What your asking all depends on your skills and also what sort of payment processing system/merchant account you go with and what sort of ASP example code they provide you, ok, then I need more information.
Was the code changed ? Thats the big one. If it worked and now it doesn't something must have changed. Things just don't stop working on their own. I would try putting the original files back in there for everything but the config and dataconn files just to make sure and see and if it works with the original files. (back up your old ones 1st so you can copy them back of course)
Also, perhaps PM me the site info so I can go look as well. , If by permissions ou are reffering to the IUSR with write/execute
permissions, they are already set. I get this error when I hit the 'Create New

Sylvain , just FYI -- i added in a new data table into the database. I
havent finished implementing the whole thing across the entire site,
but it wasn't too difficult. Once I have all of the functionality
complete I'll post some details. Some of the changes are the
addition of a new album nav style which combines style 2 and some of
the features of the new data table.

, I had not rebooted after installing the Jet driver updates, so I tried that and the asptest page worked fine, and said that all the tests were successful and that the data connection was setup correctly. I then installed aspprotect again, but with the same results. I cannot log-in from the get_me_in.asp page. It still says that it is opening the page, but does not respons for an indefinite period. The asptest page is in the same directory.
I have looked for alternate databases for this product on your site, but I cannot seem to find them. , Thanks very much for the tip. I'm a beginner with all this stuff so forgive me for the inate stupidity!
