Hello:
When using the Mass Mail feature and selecting the Users to ‘Active’ and the Access Level I want to send to the system will still send e-mails to the ‘Inactive’ users from the same Access Level.
In other words it sends to everyone in the Access Level regardless if you choose “Active” only.
Any ideas to correct?

These are directions for IIS6 but the process is similar for IIS4-5
- Click Start, click Administrative Tools, and then click Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
- Double-click your computer name in the left pane, and then double-click Web Sites.
- Locate the Web site and directory that houses the ASP application.
- Right-click the application site or directory, and then click Properties.
- Select Home Directory, and then click Configuration.
- Click Options, and then click to select the Enable Parent Paths check box.
- Click OK two times.

Ok i am having an issue with my other comp. I have spent ANOTHER 3 hours researching this one.... it WONT START THE IIS SERVICE!!!
I get this error:

I decided to use one of my client's hosts; which happens to be Network Solutions.
ANYWAY again-
I uploaded the whole thing there and they advised me they cannot do the explicit permissions on that _database folder. This is what they said: I would also would like to point out that ASP.NET applications and permissions do not extend to any other folder, other than the root, (/htdocs/), and the bin, (/htdocs/bin/) folders. Sub-directories and folder after bin and htdocs will not have ASP.NET permission (read or write).
If you could move or reconfigure your application to save all your code behind, include and dll files onto the root or bin folder, your application could work or possibly run as you would expect. Please have this done and retest your application. If and when you get a different problem or another error after doing so, please let us know, and we shall be happy to help you troubleshoot any problems that you may have.
There is a 'create database option' where i can create a database..create a dsnname, user name, password and have to specify the database file name. Once i do this i need to place the database file (aspprotectnet2002.mdb) in the /db folder within the root. I also tried this and made the appropriate change in the web.config but it STILL DOES NOT WORK. I AM PULLING MY HAIROUT WHY WONT ANYTHING WORK.
ALL THE FILES ON ON THE ROOT OF THE WEB HOST. I PULLED THE FILES OUT OF THE _DATABASE FOLDER AND DUMPED THEM ON THE ROOT. I CHANGED THAT ON THE WEB.CONFIG BUT ITS STILL LOOKING FOR SOME .XML FILE IN THAT _DATABASE FOLDER.

The problem is even before this which i didn't know until now.
I placed the protect tag in a page i called members.aspx
When i go to this page is says ACCESS DENIED etc etc etc.
When i go to login to view this page i get the error..which i DIDNT know because i assumed it was working. This is the error im getting:

btw it says /map because that is the subfolder within the root folder , This isn't going to help you much but here is the deal.
The 2checkout support in ASPProtect actually is not supposed to work with 2checkout subscriptions and therefore does not need to use an item number.
It is intended to be used for single payments only with 2checkout as explained in this thread.

Single payments with 2checkout use their shopping cart which allows for dynamic payments without needing an item number.
I agree with you that 2checkout's interface is confusing. It's actually about the worst system I have ever seen. I could not make a 2Checkout subscription system because their system is just too limited and I couldn't make it work the way it really needed to.
, There are problems with your sql server database then. It was not set up correctly.
The 1st problem relates to having "used stored procedures" checked in the settings page.. but not actually giving those stored procedure execute permissions which they need to run. That is something that must be done on the SQL enterprise manager side of things either by you if you are allowed or your hosting company.
If you can not get the execute permissions set on the stored procedures for the sql database user you are using then turn off that option in the settings page and try things without it.
The 2nd error I am not sure of at this point so correct the 1st issue and we will go from there. It could be another sql database issue (not created correctly) or it could be an asp code issue of some sort though I doubt that or other people would have had problems on that page as well. I also just tested it out and looked the code over and I did not have any issues here. , how about translating the error to english..
Looks to me off hand that it would have something to do with the SQL server itself not being run in an english lcid/format and causing some sort of date issue.
I would also suggest you start off with a brand new blank SQL ASPBanner database and make sure that works before you attemp t to import any data into it. , Those access levels are not used and are nothing to worry about. They are left over from the ASPProtect core which I used for the users area of ASPBanner.
I am not sure what you did but its not a none, Unless I know more I can not make any guesses what happened. I would make sure in the database that the user is active and the expiration date field for them if there is one is empty, Does ASPprotect support Paypal's Website Payments Pro option, where a user can use a credit card directly on a web site, without passing to paypal.com?

I am having a hard time getting my hosting company to modify the rights on the data folder. They state they support ASP and access databases however this is the response I got when I requested the modify permissions set for the internet guest account:
Were the rights changed on the data folder? No, we do not manage rights to folders.
My question to you is: Doesn't supporting asp require those permissions be set on the database folder or can asp (not just aspprotect) work without those rights modified?

, while technically that shouldnt be showing that with two slashes that is actually valid and will not effect whether that feature works or not.
so if you are getting an error that is not the reason.. as far as windows is concerned // is the same as slash in that scenario?

99% of the time it is permissions and sometimes it is related to the filesystem object being disabled on the server or script blocking software such as norton antivirus , The count is in the album area where the small pictures and description of album. Viewed 1 time(s) This count never changes.

Either way under no circumstances do I see anything like you are saying happening nor has any other ASPProtect user ever mentioned this probem.
I am going to need to see your site and see this happening. It just makes no sense the way you are describing it.
Also. did you edit the registration page code in any way. If so please revert back to an original copy to ensure this is not some sort of problem introduced by editing the code. cwilliams38164.8115046296, I have no idea of what kind of 'stuff' to try. I'm running other asp apps that use there own Access databases with no problem whatsoever., that variable comes from the settings acreen in the admin area. If you do not have it set properly things like what you are describing will happen., Now, back in the dark ages we had to use the command prompt to setup the MySQL database and all that fun stuff. I am not going to show you that method.
What happened was 100 different 3rd party companies developed interfaces to work with the MySQL server visually. Within the past year MySQL actually released its own little GUI for doing just that so I am going to show you how to do things using that.
Let's download and install it.

Installing that is a no-brainer as well. Just stick to the defaults and it will do its thing.
Now that it is finished.. run MySQL Administrator from your start menu.
It will ask for your "root" password that we entered when we set up the server.
Hit OK
You should see this if your MySQL server is runnign and you entered the correct password.
Now select the Catalogs Icon on the right.. go down to the Schemata section.. right click in the lower white area and choose Create New Schema
It will look like this
Essentially this is your database name. I am going to call my database "aspbanner"
Hit ok
Your now have a new database with nothing in it. We now need to run the MySQL database creation scripts that I provide which will create the Tables and Fields needed.
The easiest way when using the MySQL Administrator is to select the Restore icon on the left.
The choose "Open Backup File" in the lower right corner.. Browse to the "aspbanner_mysql.sql" file we provide. You can also download that file here. 2006-03-14_164927_MySQL_Script.zip
Once you select that file choose open...
Now, it is very important you choose the database you created earlier. Also known as Target Schema.. in this case I choose "aspbanner"
Now hit "Start Restore"
Ok, now the database has Tables and Fields
Click on the Catalogs Icon on the left and then select aspbanner from the schemata area in the lower left
You'll see we now have tables in the aspbanner database, Simply not possible, that feature is one of the most complicated things I have ever coded. I am very serious when I say that. There is simply no way to make it do that without spending like 80+ hours on the code and even then I do not know how it would work. There is some very slick stuff going on there and there is no simple way to change it like that. , If you would like me to, I also have no problem going into your machine real quick via remote access and setting permissions / putting the right connecting string in there for you.
I need to go in as an administator though to set the permissions.
, Oh also, I tried to run the asp on my machine (win XP) and unless I'm missing something fairly obvious, I cannot get it to run correctly...when previewing it, I see all the code instead of what I should be seeing., on that particular page check the session variables manually (not using the include)

In this version editing the look of the login page is very easy.
You can make this login page look exactly like you web site if you like.
You want to edit the "scripts/login_form_inc.asp" file.
It can be edited with any editor as long as the existing bits of server side code in it and the login form remain in tact.
The best thing to do is back it up before you start editing it.
Then if you goof it up you can revert back to the original.
If you edit this page with FrontPage enable the "show all" feature.
Its the little PIE sign in your icons. It will show the server side code as yellow things on the screen so you know where they are and can be careful not to delete them.

You are missing the fact i mentioned it is a DOMAIN CONTROLLER.
I have come across MANY articles ONLINE via GOOGLE that mention if it is a domain controller, for some reason the aspnet account is not there or gets deleted.
IN ITS PLACE GOES THE IIS_WPG ACCOUNT. IS YOUR SOFTWARE NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THIS ACCOUNT?
Is it possible to run ASP.NET scripts without ASP.NET not being installed? Because I have been running asp.net pages without any problem. , if that account isnt there thats normal because if it doesn't have any permissions for that folder so it wouldnt be listed

I would make sure permissions are set correctly on the database folder (not just the database file itself)
I would make sure your using at least a 2000 version of the database. 2003-2003 format being better..
I would make sure the server has up to date mdac/odbc drivers.. (that is really the server admins responsibility)
As for permissions there are articles in our forums about exactly how they need to be set. Improper permissions can cause a ton of random errors like that.
cwilliams38414.6528240741, Well, you cant have a login box on the home page when using ASPProtect.NET.. there is no way to make that work. I tried all day to come up with something and it is not going to happen. I suggest you make a login button and link it directly to the protected page you want them to start on. The redirect or link them whereever from there. Either that or write your own forms based authentication solution that works exactly the way you want it to or edit the code accordingly since you have the source. It is not a feature we advertise for the product regardless. It works the way it works. , Is there a way to set various members to upload a limit of photos. So, one member can only upload 5 photos in 1 album and another can upload 30 photos in 2 albums. Even if you just set a permission for the number of uploads for each member.

It is just not the sort of thing I support in the forums as it is a customization related.
Even for me something like that would take 1-3 hours of coding time. Basically, it is just not something I could just explain to you real quick.

NPA , It's probably something I could do for you as a custom project if you are interesting in paying to have that work done, but it is probably not something that will be added to this version of aspbanner as it is in my opinion a feature more suited for a more expensive software package.
It is also difficult to get ASP code to do things on it's own. Scheduling something to run on the server or some other clever scenario is necessary and that usually means it would be unique to each persons setup.

Make your connecting string just like in my example.. do not use the oledb connection string either as it will cause other problems.
If you need to find out the path to the mdb file you can use server.mappath to get that info but do not put server mappath in the connecting string. See my article again.
then if the database folder has proper permissions and the path to the mdb file is valid it will work... otherwise you get useless errors, its really that simple.
You also may want to download ASPTest from www.cjwsoft.com it is designed to show a person how to setup a working data connection.,
