Chicago - towards Watertown, phones radlog, voicemail, dial up issues , ask us a question, email, mostly tech calls on Lowville i called logical net about the issue and left a voicemail... about 4 hours later it still was not fixed nor had i heard anythin from the technicians so i sent an email about the issue to Dan, Store Visits, Cell One Staples, worked on SoftVendor project, Answered tech related calls and called expiring users., email, voicemail, misc, evening meeting, Mgrs. meeting at CREG Systems, w/ Randy and Ed, found problem in Mixed/Matched hubs, old vs. new ethernet.
Made some changes and recommended new hub/switch., Covered NOC., Lunch, MLS system corrections, Just more of the same.... finished up the modem tests, cleaned up a bit more. I dusted windowsills, emptied a very fruit-fly-infested garbage can and blinked a lot. Helped setup a new user and found and changed a password for a lady. Busy day... three whole calls., tons of mail today, Wokring on input sheets and saving fucntions so that all things get tracked like Hot Sheet changes. Very confusing and time consuming but must work or nothing gets kept track of, backup documents, Excel class orientation, timecard, filing, teched calls no issues and ti council was up and down all night, Alex Bay.com - more changes, didn't take lunch, drew flowchart in visio-emailed to hb and jg. notes typed from jetstream reading emailed to hb and jg. folders developed for old documents in word to organize for ticc docs. email on commercial mls forwarded to kv-ideas referred to dv on corland ny site conjunction. jeff-lewis board stats emailed to tv., not very busy. had a couple users that couldnt' surf, answered tech related calls. checked and called on online issues, rad log, and ask a question emails. emailed and called expiring accts., to clayton and back for package, WDT Sports Pix, tried out rule zero, General - prep for Vermont. met with Jeff, Lunch, Answered phones... got crazy for a bit longer, Radius wasnt removing the encryption on the passwords so nobody could get on., Randy called me and asked me to help him make the homepage run a little faster because he is really busy and really needed dome help. So... we discussed optimizations and things I could check and I started doing them.
We are doing this because the home page loads really slow and this is a mini priority because its makes us look bad.
changed users in global from 400 to 1200
This efftects how often the code fetches the news info and event data... etc etc
knocked out bunch of redundant tables
which ended up getting rid of about 7k of html code
not a lot of loss in k's but in actually much less table code for the browsers to interpret
page seems to be ok (even with jason) so I put it up
still have more to do... page seems to load about 7 seconds faster now on a 28.8 modem.... will try to think of some more things to do to it to make it faster but... there really isn't much more I can see that can be done... except for reducing the amount of text which isn;t really an option.,
