hi,
I am also newbies in asp and also get a problem that i am not able to write any thing on the database, if you are using NT in the network invironment may be you have to change a permission of that database file that is,
click on file -> Then properties -> security -. there you say Everryone Read ONLy or (RX)(RX) so you have to add or edit the user and make the file write and and update by clicking on check box..
its work on my case if you also get through with it then i say i just get a littlbit knowledge in asp then
