I beleive that you should look into Microsoft's Web Browser controls for this function. I do not think that Microsoft will allow you direct access to this function through client-side script.
Let me suggest a more robust option. Use CDO. CDO comes with IIS 4.0 and you can use it with any web browser since it is process by the server. You can also use it to send an 'HTML' email body.
