How about have a session var that you would set to true when you want the site to go down (SSiteDown). This would set another session var to the current time + 5 min (SSiteDownTime). On every public page of your site you check for these two vars. If the (SSiteDown) is true a message box would pop up telling the viewer that the site is going down for maintenance in (Time)-(SSiteDownTime). Once (SSiteDownTime) is reached, access to all pages is redirected to a page that tells the viewer that the site will be back up in X min. |
