Atlanta Falcons defensive end Patrick Kerney voided his contract, and potentially lucrative free-agent options could make it difficult for the team to re-sign their top pass rusher. Tomlinson 'devastated' by father's death (AP)
LaDainian Tomlinson, the NFL's MVP, is "devastated" by the death of his father, who was killed when a pickup truck flipped on a highway. Oliver Tomlinson, 71, was killed Friday afternoon in the rollover, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. The driver, Ronald McClain was taken by ambulance to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center, where he died.

Terrell Owens needs more surgery on his injured right ring finger and might not be 100 percent until training camp. Dallas Cowboys coach Wade Phillips confirmed that the wide receiver needs a second procedure on the finger that required surgery last month after getting injured during the 2006 season.
