The Denver Nuggets have found a third option to go along with Carmelo Anthony and Allen Iverson -- defense. Panthers sweep season series from Flyers (AP)
Olli Jokinen and the Florida Panthers can't afford a letdown, even against the worst team in the NHL. Jokinen broke a second-period tie, and Nathan Horton and Juraj Kolnik added late goals to lead Florida to a 4-1 victory over Philadelphia on Tuesday night that completed the Panthers' first four-game season sweep of the Flyers.

Fredrik Modin scored twice in the second period to lead the Columbus Blue Jackets past the Chicago Blackhawks 5-2 on Tuesday night. The Central Division teams entered the contest with 63 points.

Isles' Simon won't face criminal charges (AP)
New York Islander Chris Simon, suspended a league-record 25 games for a vicious on-ice hit, will not face criminal charges. Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice said her office considered "the willingness of the potential victim to support a criminal prosecution" and other factors in reaching its decision.

Knee still bothering Wild G Fernandez (AP)
Minnesota Wild goalie Manny Fernandez didn't practice Tuesday and has been told to stay off the ice for a couple of days to rest his sprained left knee. Fernandez was hurt Jan. 20 and aggravated the injury Jan. 30. Since then he has played only 20 minutes -- the third period of a game March 6. An MRI test Monday revealed no structural damage, the team said.
