A judge has ordered Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher and the mother of his toddler to take a three-hour parenting class. Urlacher and his ex-girlfriend, Tyna Robertson, are in a legal battle over Urlacher's parental visits with his 2-year-old son, Kennedy. The boy lives in Joliet with Robertson but visits the NFL star at his Lake Forest home, 62 miles away.
Raiders sign Kacyvenski, cut McNeal (AP)
The Oakland Raiders signed free-agent linebacker Isaiah Kacyvenski on Thursday. Kacyvenski impressed the Raiders during a tryout in voluntary minicamp last month. He spent his first six NFL years in Seattle, helping the Seahawks reach the Super Bowl following the 2005 season, and was with St. Louis last season.
2 selected in supplemental draft (AP)
The San Diego Chargers selected Paul Oliver, and the Baltimore Ravens chose Jared Gaither in the supplemental draft Thursday. Oliver, a Georgia cornerback, was picked 28th in the fourth round. The Ravens selected Gaither, a Maryland tackle, 31st in the fifth round. It marks the first time since 1998 that two players were taken in the supplemental draft.
Raiders sign former Jaguars S Darius (AP)
The Oakland Raiders signed former Jacksonville safety Donovin Darius on Tuesday, bolstering a unit that was the strongest on the team during a difficult season last year. The Raiders had the NFL's third-ranked overall defense and No. 1 ranked pass defense last year, despite finishing with an NFL-worst 2-14 record.

The drunken-driving charge against Baltimore Ravens quarterback Steve McNair was dropped Tuesday because a related DUI charge against his brother-in-law was reduced to reckless driving. "It's good. The Los Angeles Lakers re-signed Luke Walton to a multiyear contract Thursday. The 27-year-old Walton, who has played all of his four NBA seasons with the Lakers, had become an unrestricted free agent and received a six-year deal, reportedly worth $30 million, to remain with the team. That would more than triple the $1.4 million salary he received last season.
Mavs re-sign swingman George for 1 year (AP)
The Dallas Mavericks re-signed swingman Devean George on Thursday to a one-year deal. Terms of the contract were not disclosed, but agent Mark Bartelstein has said George's deal is worth roughly $2.4 million. George, who turns 30 next month, averaged 6.4 points and 3.6 rebounds last season. He played 60 games, starting 17, and averaged 21.4 minutes. ]]>

Jacque Vaughn and Matt Bonner each re-signed multiyear deals Thursday with the NBA champion San Antonio Spurs. Terms were not released. Vaughn, 32, a 10-year veteran who also has played for Utah, Atlanta, Orlando and New Jersey, averaged 3.0 points and 2.0 assists as point guard Tony Parker's backup last season.
Pistons re-sign Amir Johnson for 3 years (AP)
The Detroit Pistons and forward Amir Johnson agreed to an $11 million, three-year contract Thursday, keeping the restricted free agent with the team that drafted him out of high school. Johnson, 20, played in just 11 NBA games in two seasons, but the Pistons made bringing him back a top priority after re-signing Chauncey Billups on Wednesday.

The Minnesota Wild re-signed backup goalie Josh Harding to a multiyear contract on Wednesday. Last month, the Wild traded former No. 1 goalie Manny Fernandez to Boston and signed Niklas Backstrom to a three-year deal to take over the starting job next season. The 23-year-old Harding was 3-2-1 with a 1.16 goals-against average and a .960 save percentage in seven games.
Pens re-sign RW Armstrong for 2 years (AP)
The Penguins re-signed right winger Colby Armstrong to a two-year contract on Thursday. The 24-year-old Armstrong had 34 points and 67 penalty minutes in 80 games last season. He tied the Penguins' record with three overtime goals and scored all of his 12 goals when the Penguins were tied or trailing.
Kings D Visnovsky agrees to extension (AP)
Defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky, who has spent his entire NHL career with Los Angeles, agreed to a five-year extension with the Kings. Visnovsky, 31, scored a career-high 18 goals and had 40 assists last season and represented the Kings at the NHL All-Star game. The 5-foot-10, 188-pound Visnovsky was selected by Los Angeles in the fourth round, 118th overall, in the 2000 NHL draft.

Lesser charges, including misdemeanor hit-and-run, failure to render aid in an accident and failure to report an accident, will be dropped, according to the plea deal.
