Outside linebacker Lawrence Timmons, the No. 15 pick in the NFL draft, agreed Sunday with the Pittsburgh Steelers on a five-year contract that could be worth as much as $15 million and guarantees him $8,053,000 in bonus money. Timmons became only the third first-round pick in the April draft to reach terms and the first in the upper half of the draft.

The Cleveland Browns signed three rookies to four-year contracts on Sunday, just not the big three. Defending world champion Nicky Hayden was fourth quickest around the seaside California circuit. Japanese motor sports legend Nobuhiro Tajima set a record in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb on Saturday, racing to the top of the 14,110-foot mountain in 10 minutes, 1.408 seconds. Tajima, the overwhelming crowd favorite, was mobbed immediately upon exiting his 2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara after completing the 12.42-mile, 156-turn course.
