Co-defendant: Vick executed dogs (AP)
Purnell A. Peace, a defendant in the Michael Vick dogfighting case, leaves Federal court in front of protesters in Richmond, Va., Friday, Aug. 17, 2007. Purnell Peace, 35, of Virginia Beach and Quanis Phillips, 28, of Atlanta entered plea agreements and joined another defendant who previously changed his plea to guilty. The agreements require the three to cooperate in the government's case against Vick.

It's up to Michael Vick now. His last two co-defendants pleaded guilty Friday and implicated Vick in bankrolling gambling on dogfights. One of them said the Atlanta Falcons quarterback helped drown or hang dogs that didn't do well. With his NFL career in jeopardy and a superseding indictment adding more charges in the works, that left Vick with a hard choice: Cutting his own deal to hold jail time...

Tennessee Titans' Kyle Vanden Bosch (93) hits New England Patriots' Tom Brady (12) during the first quarter of an NFL preseason football game Friday, Aug. 17, 2007, in Foxborough, Mass. The play was originally ruled an incomplete pass, but the ruling was challenged, and the call was overturned, resulting in a fumble and a recovery by the Patriots.

Vince Young was pounded by an aggressive Patriots defense one week after being punished by his coach. The strong scrambler was sacked four times in the Tennessee Titans' 27-24 win over New England on Friday night. Coach Jeff Fisher had benched him for their exhibition opener for spending the night before the game at home instead of the team hotel.

Brady Quinn is still hanging around and waiting for the Cleveland Browns to call his name -- on game day. The high-profile rookie, who stayed on the sideline in Cleveland's exhibition opener last week, is expected to make his NFL debut -- probably a brief one -- on Saturday night for the Browns, whose quarterback competition is nearing a conclusion without him even in the conversation or debate.

Joey Harrington wanted his interception back and fretted that the Falcons' opening drive didn't end with a touchdown. At least Harrington, taking over Atlanta's offense from troubled Michael Vick, had a better preseason outing than Buffalo's J.P. Losman. The Bills' starter came up empty despite getting every opportunity to score in a 13-10 loss to Atlanta (1-1) on Friday.

A week after not attempting a pass, Pennington had two ill-advised throws returned for touchdowns in a 37-20 loss to the Vikings on Friday night.
